But the mechanisms are the same when you are talking speciation, which is macro-evolution. Using it to divide evolution into two different points of view is disingenuous, it is all evolution! There is ample evidence of speciation in Paleontology, evolutionary developmental biology, comparative genomics and genomic phylostratigraphy. So when you say no one has observed it, you are talking about in a lab. So what? All science isn't about labs! Enough of evolution itself has been replicated in a lab and speciation is consistent with the evidence of many scientific disciplines, I have no trouble with it.

I see the divide as artificial and designed as a way to market disbelief! The changing arguments from Creationists and Intelligent Design proponents is just more marketing without any science of their own.

I do take exception to you "brilliant atheists" comment. Most biologists I know are devout and deeply religious. Yet, they have no trouble with Evolution on any scale. 11,000 Christian Clergy signed a letter supporting Evolution and the teaching of evolution to our young! Are you telling me they are not believers?

You are helping the Discovery Institute with their marketing because you are buying into another artificial dichotomy that either you believe in God or you accept science. I completely disagree with that!Ted Herrlichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03194189686075222808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5506870823292198189.post-78693042941147713492008-01-29T15:06:00.000-05:002008-01-29T15:06:00.000-05:00Sorry Ted, but you of all people should know the d...Sorry Ted, but you of all people should know the difference between "Micro" evolution and "Macro" evolution. No one has observed "Macro" evolution at work. The brilliant athiests who discount God can only tack on a bunch of Zero's (i.e. billions of years) and proclaim "it works." Just add time. To observe all the creatures of this world and think that somehow it came about from a "big bang" takes more faith than I can muster up... sorry.
Eric ReinholdEric Reinholdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03062283947430688434noreply@blogger.com
